I have been in the retail business for the past thirty years with three different enterprises. The first was a weaving and fiber related store, the second dealt with fabrics for the quilt world, and the third was an eclectic store focusing on items from our travels as well as women’s clothing, jewelry and contemporary crafts. This web site is a natural progression from that store. I have looked for and found treasures for all three and I will continue to do so for treasureglobalshopping.com.
My husband and I have been fortunate enough to be able to travel to a variety of countries. We search out the artisans and craftspeople in each of these locations. Sharing a love of working with your hands unites people despite language barriers. It is exciting to see traditional crafts being continued and taught to the younger generations is many countries. It is always heartening to be able to buy directly from the makers, or from one of the many co-operatives that have been formed to share knowledge, supplies and to create a more central marketing system.
We have been in Egypt, Morocco, Japan, China, Mexico, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Romania, France, Italy, England, Singapore, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Bolivia, Ecuador, India, Myanmar, Mexico, Russia, Astonia, Finland and Canada.
Many of the items that we show here are one of a kind pieces. Others are things that we have in limited supply. We will be glad to discuss with you by email your questions or concerns.
